Data Pipeline

A data pipeline is an organized sequence of processes and technologies that enable the automatic acquisition, processing, enrichment, and delivery of data between systems. It encompasses the entire data flow—from sources such as databases, ERP systems, SaaS applications, APIs, or files, through integration and transformation layers, to destinations such as data warehouses, Data Lakes, lakehouse platforms, or analytical systems.

In practice, a data pipeline consists of stages such as data ingestion, validation and cleansing, transformations, quality control, task orchestration, and monitoring of operational correctness. Modern data pipelines can operate in batch processing or stream processing mode. Platforms such as Talend enable the design, automation, and management of data pipelines across the entire organization, ensuring consistency, reliability, and compliance of data flows with data governance principles.
