Data Validation

Data Validation is the process of verifying that data is accurate, complete, and compliant with defined rules before further use. It enables the detection of errors, invalid formats, missing values, and other issues that can affect the quality of analyses and reports.

Data Validation includes:

  • checking the correctness of data formats,
  • controlling required and missing values,
  • verifying data compliance with established rules,
  • detecting values outside permissible ranges,
  • identifying errors before further data processing.

Data validation can be applied at various stages of data processing, including during integration, migration, and ETL and ELT processes. It helps reduce the number of errors and increase the reliability of data used in reporting, analytics, and business processes.
